Snail Art Project for Children Combines Science, Language And Art
Snail Art project is a wonderful way for children to combine science, language and art. Each time we gathered snails and introduced to class, I found the parents just as fascinated as the children. We had a wonderful time hunting for the snails in the yard and gathering up as many we could find. We would prepare shallow bowls of food coloring to let the snails touch with their foot and lay on the piece of large paper. We watched, talked and questioned what the snails would do. Kids loved to touch and hold and ask many questions about their body, movement and more. I found this time a great way for children to get in touch with a little nature creature we always pass by. Photo's and children's writings about this experience is a must. Remember to wash hands when finished.
Thanks,
Debbie
