Science Experiment For Children using Ice, Salt And Food Coloring

Kids will enjoy this science experiment  using Ice, Salt and Food Coloring for hours. Gather all shapes of bowls, turkey basters, droppers, salt , food coloring and anything you desire to use for experiment. We start by freezing water overnight in all types of containers. You can also go and buy a block of ice, since it will last a long time. After you have your ice, add into a water table, outside ground or on a baking pan. We start by adding salt , which is fun to see salt create deep crevice in the ice. You can now add the drops of color to see the colors seep into the ice. The salt will also act as a glue to attach other ice pieces to each other and create  unique sculpture. There will be a lot of trial and error. We have also brought tools to chisel and hammer with to sculpt. Try and use kids tools and tools with no sharp ends that will not harm anyone, I have used play tools you find in child's tool boxes, straws to wiggle into holes to blow colors. Try it all. Now it's time to start talking and taking notes on what each child finds with their fun experiment.
